Welcome to our lecithin hub

What’s lecithin?

Lecithins are a group of naturally occurring phospholipids. Due to their lipophilic and hydrophilic nature, lecithins have functional properties that are useful in the formulation of food products. Lecithins are also consumed as supplements for their health benefits.

Soya Liquid Lecithin is a yellowish-brown fluid occurring naturally in soybeans. It is a consistent and translucent feed ingredient that serves as an excellent source of dietary phospholipids. Adding this substance to animal feeds helps improve skin quality, coat shine.

Functions of lecithin as Emulsifier:

Emulsifiers are molecules with groups that exhibit solubility or affinity towards both water and oil. For example, the fatty acid chains in lecithin have an affinity for oil, while the phosphatide chains have an affinity for water due to their polarity.

As a result, this molecule can effectively hold together both oil and water phases
